Dutch E Germ Has Lived a Life You Cannot Possibly Fathom

The HBA collaborator and former member of Gang Gang Dance has a new project out today.

Dutch E Germ (Tim DeWit) has been keeping a pretty low key profile over the past few years. But over the past decade, DeWit's gone from his early roots in the DC punk scene with The Cranium to the foundation of Gang GangDance, contributed to Venus X’s seminal Ghe2o G0th1k parties as Dutch E Germ and created runway music sound design for Hood By Air. In the meantime, he's composed the soundtrack to 12 O'Clock Boys and some other documentaries, too.

He keeps pretty busy, albeit low key, especially after being involved in a near-fatal shooting a few years back.

Yesterday, UNO NYC put up a new release from Dutch E Germ called IN.RAK.DUST, which you can stream below and buy on iTunes, too.

After hearing his project—it's intense—we looked around a bit for some of his other music. Turns out, a song called "HBA WAR"—yes, that's Hood By Air—was sampled by Kanye West on "New Slaves" after Arca, the Venezuelan producer who also worked on Yeezus, introduced him to it. Listen to "HBA War" below:
