Despite the Aura Noir tees, Norwegian heritage and name lifted from the classic Mayhem release, Deathcrush is NOT a black metal band. Yet the name is perfect for this trio, who combine slinky yet pissed off riot grrl with a kiss of blast beats. As sexy as they may be at times, Deathcrush means to pummel you, enlisting the help of Billy Anderson (Swans, Melvins, Sleep, Eyehategod) for their latest batch of tracks including "Lesson #16 for Beatmaster V /Fun," the subject of their latest video.The "Fun" video hits all the right Deathcrush notes, featuring drugs, cheerleaders, references to the movie Kids and even Kim Jong-Un.
