Listen to "West Siberian Plain," a New Song from Ultramantis Black That Will Chokeslam You Into Oblivion

Pairing the professional wrestler with Pissed Jeans, it's a hardcore band that will drop a double underhook piledriver on your ears.

There is music, and then there is music that hits you like a full nelson facebuster, music that pummels you like a double knee backbreaker, music that uses guitars like so many reverse piledrivers. Ultramantis Black, the eponymous musical offshoot of professional wrestler Ultramantis Black, obviously falls in the latter category. It is impossible for a band whose lead singer is best known for moves like the Cosmic Disaster and the Cosmic Doom to not rule. If you've already created something called the Praying Mantis Bomb, you are more than qualified to do anything loud and punishing. It is a foregone conclusion that a band fronted by Ultramantis Black will drop a double underhook piledriver on your ears.

But it doesn't hurt that Ultramantis Black also involves the members of punk ragers Pissed Jeans. The tag team is a diving double foot stomp of political hardcore in the tradition of 90s militant straight-edge forbears. And it has the spirit of motherfucking, muscle busting, full nelson slamming, straight jacket electric chair dropping professsional wrestling. "West Siberian Plain" will beat the shit out of you. It's from the group's self-titled album, which is out July 8 (July 4 in Germany/Benelux and July 7 in the rest of the world). Pre-order it here, and, in the meantime, let this track hit you like a reverse STO:
