Get High on The Obsessed's Heavy Grooving New Song, "Razorwire"

The Wino-fronted stoner doom godfathers will return with a brand-new album, 'Sacred,' on April 7

Legendary stoner doom outfit The Obsessed have been making moves for the past few years, popping up at various festivals here and there and teasing the faithful with the prospect of new music—something the real 'heads have been waiting on since the band's last proper full-length, The Church Within, dropped back in 1994.

Finally, the wait is (nearly) over! The band—which is currently solidifying its most recent lineup, but remains helmed by America's most famed doom shaman, the one and only Scott "Wino" Weinrich"—is gearing up to release a brand-new album on Relapse Records this spring. Sacred is due out April 7, with preorders now live at the Relapse store, and they've just released a new track, "Razorwire," which is streaming below. As one might assume given Wino's track record, this new track is classic Obsessed—low-slung grooves, light-fingered riffs, and all.

Smash that mf play button below, and keep an ear out for the most relatable moment—when Wino sings out "I'd rather get high than pay the rent" in his inimitable phlegmmy yowl.
