Lil B Threatens Lonzo Ball with The Based God's Curse

Let's talk about hex.

Lonzo Ball, haver of basketball talent and son of a shouty man, was made to pay for his spicy hip-hop takes and Hollywood ways yesterday, when Lil B threatened him with the Based God's Curse. The Los Angeles Lakers are screwed.

The threat was a direct response to a clip from Ball's new Facebook show Ball in the Family that started to circulate on Friday. There, the 19-year-old Ball responded to the notion that he should listen to "real hip-hop" with incredulity. "Y'all outdated man," he said. "Don't nobody listen to Nas no more. Real hip-hop is Migos and Future."

The response was swift and severe:

The original tweet seemed to attribute the Nas takes to Lonzo's father, LaVar, who is known for his brash opinions, but doesn't tend to say much about hip-hop. Lil B's sights are clearer—and more chilling—when he writes, "watch ur team." It seems like it's only a matter of time before The Curse is officially placed upon Ball and the Lakers.

With The Curse lifted from James Harden in June, all NBA players are currently free to succeed and prosper. But The Curse has had a significant impact on the league for years. Neither Kevin Durant nor Harden won a championship with the curse hanging over them, and many teams rightly live in fear of falling into the Based God's crosshairs.
