In what is surely the best news of the day, or, indeed, of any day, it has been announced that heavyweight grime MC JME will star in Carnage: Swallowing the Past, a feature length film about a vegan future, directed by the great Simon Amstell of Popworld fame (yes, Never Mind the Buzzcocks also, but mostly Popworld).

JME, as his Twitter followers well know, is a passionate vegan, and will play himself in the film, which will air on BBC iPlayer in the spring. Chortle reports that Carnage: Swallowing the Future will be set in a fictional 2067 where everyone eats a plant based diet. Also set to appear are Martin Freeman, Joanna Lumley, Dame Eileen Atkins, Lindsay Duncan, Alex Lawther, Gemma Jones, Linda Basset, Marwan Rizwan and John Macmillan. Joining JME as themselves are Kirsty Wark (lol), Lorraine Kelly (loller) and the queen, Vanessa Feltz (lollest), with Amstell on narration duties. Commenting on the film, Amstell had the following to say: "I have written and directed a film about veganism. I'm sorry." When you're bringing JME to our screens, Simon, you have nothing to be sorry for. (Image via YouTube)
