The source says that Paddock rented multiple condos overlooking the Life Is Beautiful Festival, which attracted an estimated 50 000 fans each day.

"The source suggested that Paddock may have lost his nerve or simply changed his plans and checked into the Mandalay Bay Hotel on September 28," the Daily Beast reports.

Paddock carried an arsenal of weapons and ammunition to his Mandalay Bay room in suitcases. On Sunday night he fired hundreds of rounds of gunfire on the crowd at the country music festival, killing 59 and injuring more than 500.

Update: Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo has confirmed that Stephen Paddock also had a room at the Ogden Hote at the same time as Life Is Beautiful
