Dornik's breakout single, "Something About You," was an instant hit, but it was also tempting to overlook: Another semi-anonymous, silky take on blending electronic instrumentals and smooth R&B vocals? It takes a lot of Michael Jackson comparisons to sell that combination, but it definitely sold. Pitchfork gave the song a Best New Music nod; the Guardian named Dornik the new band of the week last July; we put him in a piece about why British music is great; and he's signed to PMR, the label that hosts UK talents Jessie Ware and Jesse James. His voice still sounds kinda like Michael Jackson—in the sense that it can reach a ball-tightening pitch—and on new track "Second Thoughts," it's overlayed atop resplendent, reclining synths. "Second Thoughts," which is premiering above, is the B-side to the recently released single "On My Mind." Expect to see a debut album sometime next year.
