Remember that Twitter thread with the photos of Rihanna walking over grates in stilettos? That was when I knew Rihanna was not of this world: graceful and poised, she glides where the rest of us would be laid on our backs like cockroaches.
But if you needed further convincing of her magnificence (not sure why you would), look towards her charitable efforts, which are wide ranging, though like a true angel she rarely discusses them. She paid for the construction of a specialist breast cancer treatment and diagnosis centre in Barbados, and started the Clara and Lionel Scholarship Programme (named for her grandparents, because Rihanna is lowkey all about family) which supports students from Carribean countries attending college in the US. She's also a supporter of the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen Project, which helps improve access to education for children in over 60 countries.
And though she doesn't tend to brag about her sizeable donations, the Harvard Gazette reports that Harvard University have now recognised her as their 2017 Humanitarian of the Year. The award "recognises prominent public-spirited leaders each year," and Rihanna will be presented with this year's award on Tuesday 28 February on campus at the university, and follows in the footsteps of previous honourees including Malala Yousafzai and Kofi Annan.
