"Black Superheroes": Watch Kendrick Induct N.W.A. Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
At Brooklyn's Barclays Center, Lamar delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the influence of the group.
At the start of the weekend, legendary hip-hop group N.W.A. was inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of fame. They made the occasion even more exciting at the induction at Barclays Center in New York by bringing out none other than Kendrick Lamar to induct the group. He spoke long about what they've done for hip-hop and black culture, what each individual member meant to him, how Ice Cube and Dre specifically gave him a platform to build on, how they captured the realities of life in Compton, and how they inspired a generation of kids. "The fact that a famous group can look just like one of us and dress like one of us, talk like one of us, proved to every single kid in the ghetto that you can be successful," he said.
