ESTRONS Flip Female Objectification on Its Head on "Make a Man"

"I'd like to make a man of you—I'd like to fuck you, and fuck you."

What is an estron? Apparently, if you're Welsh, it means "alien" or "stranger"—which makes sense because (a) ESTRONS were strangers when they first met on a beach in Wales and (b) they're kinda extra-terrestial in the sense they're about to rocket up.

Their latest single "Make a Man" is a fierce declaration of the band's dynamic sound. It's not just notes though—there's meaning behind the music too. "Make a Man" turns the idea of female objectification on its head. "It’s the story of a heterosexual female’s battle between desiring a man, whilst simultaneously finding herself having little respect for his self-important ego and misogynistic attitude towards women," explains lead singer Taliesyn Källström. "She retaliates by objectifying him herself."
