Gemma Collins Styled Out Falling in a Hole at the Radio 1 Teen Awards

"Madonna done it and I done it" – Collins, national treasure, 2017.

Sunday night saw the Radio 1 Teen Awards (kind of like the UK's version of the Teen Choice Awards, I guess?) take place at London's Wembley Arena. Acts like Dua Lipa, Liam Payne, Rita Ora and Camila Cabello, who the BBC reckons are popular with the teens, performed, and winners included Little Mix and Stormzy. But honestly none of that actually matters very much because this morning there is only one woman who is grabbing headlines.

Basically what I am trying to say is that Gemma Collins off The Only Way Is Essex (like the British Jersey Shore) fell in a hole on the Wembley Arena stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards:

Yes, Noisey has form for enjoying people falling in stage-holes. We know. We're sorry, we can't help it. But this is not the only reason why this is amazing. Firstly, it's amazing because The Hole Faller is Gemma Collins, walking meme ("memay") and true, genuine national treasure of Great Britain. Instead of hiding forever in embarrassment, Collins has since posted the video of the incident to her own social media accounts, as well as reassurances to her fans that she is "OK," and a mock-up of a National Accident Helpline advert. She's too good for all of us.

She also tweeted with regards to the fall, "Madonna done it and I done it. When I tell you I'm Bridget Jones in an Essex girl it's finally confirmed. Best and worse moment for me." Please tattoo "Madonna done it and I done it" on my back at the earliest convenience.

Secondly this fall is amazing just from a physics point of view. I don't know anything about physics, really, but I do know that there is a real beauty in the fact that Gemma managed to fall down the back of the hole, disappearing entirely while not knocking any of the other people on the podium over (Jamie from Love Island, some others I can't make out). It is, in my expert view, a scientifically perfect thing.

Anyway, just watch it above because it's the funniest thing you will see today and also because Gemma Collins should be presenting every music awards show from now until the end of time. Get her on next year's BRIT Awards, stat.
