Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and More of Your Favourite Rockstars Will Appear in Terence Malick’s New Movie

Some of the world's most legendary rockstars and also the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are slated to appear in Song to Song, the upcoming film from acclaimed Tree of Life and Knight of Cups director Terence Malick. Starring Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara and Ryan Gosling, Song to Song follows two couples as they navigate the music scene in Austin, Texas.

According to IndieWire, it will see musical cameos from big names like Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Florence and the Machine, Lykke Li, The Black Lips (who were joined by Mara, playing guitar, during a 2012 set at Austin City Limits as part of a shoot for the film, which has been in the works for years) and, yeah, Anthony Kiedis and co., all of whom will be playing themselves for the movie. Slated for release in the US on March 17, with international roll-out soon after, Song to Song will, let's face it, probably be great, and it's also the first reason you've had in years to do some bonding with your dad. Mark it on your calendar.
