Future and the Weeknd Team Up in Toronto Transit for "Comin Out Strong"

We actually have vines growing on all our subway stations.

Toronto's transit system, the TTC, is… well, the nicest thing you can say about it is that some of the subway stations are kinda neat-looking. Noted Toronto aesthetician/pop star the Weeknd knows this, which is definitely why he and Future decided to shoot the video for their collaboration "Comin Out Strong," from the latter's HNDRXX album, in the abandoned Lower Bay subway station.

It can be reasonably assumed that the implicit goal of this video is "how do we make Toronto look like that cool-ass fight near the end of the first Matrix movie " and while there are no sick martial arts sequences, there's enough green saturation and industrial-goth gear to suggest a cyberpunk-via-Wachowskis inspiration. It's also worth noting that fellow Canadian nerd curator Grimes realized that TTC subway stations are good spots to shoot videos at more than a year ago. However, the many shots of Future, Abel, and co. waiting in stopped cars are more accurate to the daily Torontonian commuter experience. Phil takes this fucking thing every day and it never looks this cool. He's on Twitter.
