Into Dogs and Low Quality Clips of New Sky Ferreira Songs? We Got You

Sky had some as-yet-unheard music playing in the background of an Instagram story of her dog

All I want from 2018 is a new Sky Ferreira album, and it appears, amazingly, as though I might get one. Last November, Sky sent a bunch of tweets promising that new music was coming soon, and we also heard her on a cover of Lionel Richie's "Easy," from the soundtrack of Baby Driver. Since then, she's been pretty quiet, though a couple of weeks back she showed up on "Pain Killer," the second single from Iceage's upcoming record Beyondless. And now, as per a new Instagram story, she seems to be finally gearing up to releasing new music of her own, as we see in this Instagram story of her dog:

As I said, low quality. However, what you can hear here is good: the first track is more rocky and upbeat than Sky's signature dream-pop sound, which feels like a good move; the second is more in her usual, hazy territory, and the third is kind of an amalgamation of the two. Sky has the magnetic presence of a rockstar, and it's great to see her potentially headed in that direction a little more musically. And you know what else is great? Dogs. Good to see all the great things together, here, and having that album would be even better.
