Earlier this week, we reported that Martin Shkreli, disgraced PharmaBro, would be required by law to forfeit the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album he bought in 2015 for an alleged $2 million, if he's unable to pay the $7.4 million that he owes in restitution. If Shkreli does have to surrender the album, it goes into the hands of the US government, which is a fascinating twist in this fucking weird tale, and also may mean that we're closer to hearing that record. The people at TMZ, then, tracked down Wu-Tang member U-God in New York City to ask him about the development ("I hope the feds wanna give us back our record [...] so it can go out there and generate some sales for my family," he commented), and in the process, they got the greatest revelation of all:

"It's crazy 'cause me and Redman got a song with Cher on there."

"It's crazy 'cause me and Redman got a song with Cher on there."

"It's crazy 'cause me and Redman got a song with Cher on there."

Translation: U-God has confirmed that Cher joined forces with himself and frequent Wu-Tang collaborator Redman. The Wu Tang Cher Clan lives.

If you're unfamiliar, the background context here is that in 2014, the singer Cher made the greatest tweet ever committed to the internet:

For a long time, this tweet has taken on a mystic quality, so the fact that it may refer to a real project (2014, of course, was around the time Once Upon a Time in Shaolin would have been recorded) is unbelievably bizarre and great news. Also: how would Cher on a track with Wu-Tang and Redman even sound? I, personally, have no clue, but I do know that Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is now even more of a modern myth – let's hope we get to hear it.
