Charli XCX and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Spin a Candy Floss Cloud on ‘Crazy Crazy’

Their sugary collaboration with Japanese producer Yasutaka Nakata has arrived.

Over Christmas our attention was, let's say, piqued (read: I was rendered unable to breathe properly for a number of minutes) by a short preview of "Crazy Crazy," a track by Japanese producer Yasutaka Nakata featuring global pop heavyweights Charli XCX and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. And now that song has arrived in full, in all it's sugar-induced projectile vomiting glory. With an intro that sounds like Ms Pacman if she were demented by the ghost of a melting cassette player, it segues into a strawberry gum bubble of saccharine pop at its very best. Charli and Kyary practically morph into a two-headed beast spitting out pitched-up vocals like a mouthful of sweets. "Crazy Crazy" is silly, girly, strange and actually in many ways kind of terrifying, but most importantly, I think it might actually be the future of pop? Listen below:
