Later… With Jools Holland is a UK institution, showcasing as it does some of the best acts from around the world – however, in its 25-year history, it's never featured an all-female musical lineup. That changed this week, with a special episode spotlighting women in music, from Lorde to Sheryl Crow to the baddest in east London, Stefflon Don.

Steff took to the Later… stage to perform "16 Shots" a cut from her 2016 mixtape Real Ting, which also boasts a music video she co-directed. Her performance of the track here is no-frills, delivered directly to the camera, proving that while she's all about the entourage, she can very easily rely on the strength of both her bars and vocals when required.

What's most impressive is the vocal dexterity that she demonstrates, hopping from rap to sweet singing and then back again over the course of the track. For those unfamiliar with her, it's an excellent introduction to one of the UK's most talented and interesting new rappers, who manages to be both a throwback to what female rap started its life as, and an exciting glimpse into what its future might be.
