AJ Tracey Is Back with a Hard New Track, "Blacked Out"

He has also announced details of his new EP, "Secure the Bag!"

In the time since he released his Lil Tracey EP last year, AJ Tracey's profile has risen significantly. Back then he was 'one to watch,' whereas now he's a bonafide star of grime and UK rap in his own right – original, talented, and outspoken about social issues in the same way that artists like Skepta and JME have been before him, so you know he'll be sticking around.

In that case, it makes sense that the next new track from this year's release (following "LA4AWEEK") Secure the Bag!, an eight-track EP due to drop on 6 October, would live up to the raised expectations we now have of the west London rapper. "Blacked Out," which you can hear above, goes just as hard as you'd expect, with Tracey providing a catchy hook and clever lines over a Sir Spyro beat.

Talking to Julie Adenuga on Beats 1 yesterday about the EP as a whole, AJ also announced a UK tour, promising big things ("Anyone who saw my previous show – that was alright. This is serious now. I hope you can come watch it"). The Secure the Bag tour goes on sale this Friday (4 August) at 10am here, and you can see the full list of dates below:
