After a meditative, 11-minute Record Store Day single and plenty of speculation about a new full-length, perennial indie rock band The War On Drugs have announced a new album, A Deeper Understanding, out August 25. The announcement comes with a new single, "Holding On," which channels Bruce Springsteen's driving rock 'n' roll because of course it does, it's The War On Drugs. Frontman Adam Granduciel still has his Bob Dylan inflections, whirring over xylophonic twinkles, murky synths, and crystal-clear guitars.Listen to the track in full at the top of the page.Follow Alex Robert Ross on Twitter.
