Music to Fake Shore Driveby Volume 6: Don't Forget About the Midwest

Hi haters, Chicago's premier taste-making hip-hop blog Fake Shore Drive is back off hiatus with a new installment of their reoccurring series with Noisey.

It's been a long time, we shouldn't have left you…without some Music to Fake Shore Driveby. Hi haters, we're back off hiatus with a brand new installment (volume six!) of our reoccurring series with Noisey, Music to Fake Shore Driveby, where we bring you a carefully curated mix of the best in the midwest.

It's been a busy few months since we last spoke. Chance and the Social Experiment changed the game, yet again, with Surf. They put some big numbers on the boards, and continue to disrupt the traditional industry model as we know it. Lil Durk finally gave us his major label debut, Remember My Name, which is a lot better than most of you bums are giving it credit for. King Louie gave us the third installment of his Drilluminati series. And Kaytranada keeps lacing some of the Midwest's finest with amazing soundscapes (see: Mick Jenkins, Freddie Gibbs).

Lil Herb and Lil Bibby continue to dazzle with their aggressive yet elegant wordplay, while newcomer Ty Money is giving us some of the best bars we've heard in ages. Twista is still rapping circles around people even after 20-some-odd years in the game. Supa Bwe's hooks are bulletproof. SD continues to rap over weird yet amazing beats, and SaveMoney is still on a quest to takeover (see: "Have U Eva") In short, the Midwest is booming right now, and the city of Chicago is still nothing to eff with (even though crits predicted we'd have fallen off by now).

So celebrate the middle of the map with this 24-track collection of flame emojis. If it was the 90s, this would be a double disc. But never mind that, get into the music below. We promise we won't make you wait this long ever again. Ride wit us below. No Cornell Haynes Jr.
