Behold a Confusing But Exciting Trailer For the New Arctic Monkeys Album

The Sheffield, UK band's sixth LP, 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino,' is out May 11 and tbh we're ready to rock.

Now we're talking. Mere days into Q2, one of its biggest rumored releases has now been confirmed: Arctic Monkeys' long-awaited sixth album, which is titled Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (the title is slightly *listens to Jack White once* but I will let it slide for this lot), will be released on May 11. I hope that you will join me in Rocking Out.

There's no new music as yet—though I'd wager that New Music Friday might yield the goods tomorrow—but there is a rather intriguing-looking trailer which features a small, spinning architectural model, presumably of the titular hotel. The short video, which you can see above, is backgrounded by some fairground-sounding synths, before segueing into guitars that feel a bit more like the band's usual wheelhouse. I am very glad to have them back—pray for new music sooner rather than later, for all our sakes.
