While the daily act of sleeping is something we take for granted, it can go wrong quite easily. Sleep paralysis exists, after all, wherein you're suddenly subject to hallucinations of demons while being unable to do anything about it. Toronto chillout pop duo Teen Ravine aren't going into territory that metal on their new song "Hall of Horrors," but the exploration of the state between waking and dreaming is given ample atmosphere nonetheless. The tune fuses the acoustic bedroom soul of Prefab Sprout with Bon Iver-ish production touches like vocoder choirs, making for a supremely relaxing song about nightmares."We tried to capture the disoriented feeling of laying in bed drunk as the room spins," said the band on the song. "Waking up in the middle of the night and not knowing where you are. We want to make music that feels like you're floating in a warm bath occasionally looking down at your weird naked body."
