JYDN's New Song Is "Proof" of Ottawa's Thriving R&B

Produced by Maurice Moore of Kehlani's TSNMI Mob.

Although Ottawa is mainly know for the stuffy politics happening in Parliament Hill, there's some smooth-as-hell music coming out of Canada's capital. Ottawan singer JYDN has already gained some traction with his single "R U Down" and now he's back with another offering called "Proof." JYDN's voice alternates between natural and processed, sung and rapped, to mimic his romantic confusion and indecisiveness, while TSNMI Mob producer Maurice Moore's beat ratchets up the tension with patented slow jam chord changes.

"I was inspired by a significant other when writing," says JYDN. "Ultimately I wanted to portray the fears and insecurities that I experienced while being young and in love. As a result… I feel the hook really drives the song because of its blend of emotion, and I also love its distinct melody because it really gives a sense of the introspective feeling behind the song." Listen to "Proof" below.
