Sometimes a video doesn't need high concepts, sometimes it just needs mood. This is what Toronto R&B singer 12AM has taken to heart in the video for his absurdly luscious cut "Girls Like U." Don't let his looks fool you, the dude can bust out a mean falsetto, which explains the luxurious chair he's chilling in throughout the song's video. If bathrobes could sing, they would sound like 12AM.
"This song was actually a ballad at first, just pure piano," says 12AM. "I sent it to my boy who was like 'yo this could have a real swing to it if we went in on the production' so Bryan and Dan flipped it and it came out as probably one of my favourite records I've done. RB directed the video and we really wanted it to be simple and show what these Girls Like U girls do, photoshoots and partying."
