Watch Lorde Play “Green Light” and “Liability” on Last Night’s SNL

She performed the two 'Melodrama' cuts on a minimal set and it all came together quite nicely.

Lorde was the musical guest on last night's SNL, her first network TV performance since announcing the release of her second studio album, Melodrama. As expected, she performed the two singles that we've already heard from the record, "Green Light" and Liability. It all came together nicely; the set was minimal, meaning that there were no distractions from the New Zealander's smokey looks to the camera. Her performance of "Green Light" had all of the energy it needed to push the chorus into it's natural 1 AM territory. But it was "Liability," the gorgeous ballad that she released last week, that worked best. With her back turned to her pianist, her voice stood up perfectly, and her bridal veil was only somewhat distracting.
