Tamara Madison Is Not Taking Anyone’s Shit in "Seldom"

The Toronto singer expresses post-breakup rage in the smoothest way possible.

Toronto R&B songstress Tamara Madison is here to let you know that she's completely over it in her newest single, 'Seldom'. A prime candidate for when you're building your next "Mad-At-My-Significant-Other" playlist, Madison's rich vocals carry the brass-assisted production while she swoons about leaving a lover who just couldn't reciprocate.

After taking a two-year hiatus, Madison is ready to reintroduce herself and the clapback that is "Seldom" is a good place to start. "It honestly feels like I'm back to doing what I'm MEANT to do. I'm finally back to fulfilling my purpose and it feels great, but it also makes me super nervous. I feel I still need to re-oil my hinges a bit but I'm ready", she shares over email.

The cut is the first single off of Madison's upcoming project, RELAPSE 2, set to be released later this year. Check out 'Seldom' and read our interview with Madison as she shares how to let bad relationships go.

Noisey: What can fans expect from RELAPSE 2?
Tamara Madison: RELAPSE 2 will be a continuation of my love life story. People will definitely relate. We all go through a lot of the same shit /stuff when it comes to love, after all. Part 2 will continue to bring a different vibe in every song, just like Part 1. The production on Part 2, by David Neale and Don Fredericko, is beyond dope.

What inspired "Seldom?"
"Seldom" was inspired by a relationship I was in where the person I thought he was, turned out to be quite fraudulent. You know a lot of men will do anything to get a girl, but once they do, they get comfortable and switch up. And as they do, so do your feelings. You go from wanting to move mountains for them, to wanting them to disappear and knowing you should let them go.

What advice would you give to someone who hasn't learned how to let go?
Put yourself first. Your sanity is always more important and walking away will ALWAYS be worth it.
