Janelle Monáe Shares a Message to Haters With New Video "I Like That"

Janelle Monáe is gearing up for the release of Dirty Computer this Friday. The album is shaping up to be her most dynamic release yet, with the dystopian visuals that have accompanied her other singles "Django Jane," "Make Me Feel," and "PYNK."

On "I Like That," Monáe is reveling in the fact that she's never fit in. "I don't give a damn if I was the only one," she sings on the hook. She bursts into a rap on the bridge about wearing thrift store clothes. "I remember when I cut my perm off and you rated me a 6 / But even with the tears in my eyes, I always knew I was the shit."

Monáe says Dirty Computer as her most intimate album , and it looks like it is celebrating the things that make people different. The full version of her "emotion picture" for Dirty Computer will premiere on BET and MTV on April 26. Watch the video below.
