Vera's "Diamonds" Music Video Turns the Saxophone Into the SEXYphone

Last year it was the flute. This year we’re hoping that the jazz instrument that manages to weave its way across genres and into our ears is the saxophone, and Vera is already leading the charge on that front with his latest single "Diamonds."

Producer William Asingh, who goes by Vera in his musical endeavors, is most known through his work with the likes of fellow Copenhagen artists including MØ and Liss, among others. But Vera is also an extremely talented solo artist on his own, as displayed through “Diamonds” which we’re premiering the music video for today.

The sax-driven track is a great example of everything that makes Vera special, his ability to make the sonically minimal sounds that are his signature feel just as big, and sometimes more engulfing than other producers do with more layers and more aggressive notes. Thorbjørn Kragh Liljegren directed the video, which features several of Vera’s friends and family members as they present their interpretation of the song’s lyrics about reminding an ungrateful past lover why they owe their successes to the relationship they once had. The quick transitions between subjects and light and dark backgrounds is both rattling and appropriate, providing a great balance through the entire package and allows them to, as the artist says, “stand out with their own character."
