'The Matrix' is the Best and Pimpton Proves it on “Nebuchadnezzar”

It’s like Tasty Wheat.

The Matrix is the best action movie and source of quotes of all time, and it never had any sequels (that I acknowledge). As Morpheus tells us, “There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path,” and Pimpton shows us the way. The Saskatchewan rapper pays homage to the Keanu Reeves-Laurence Fishburne-blessed masterpiece in his latest single “Nebuchadnezzar.” It’s Pimpton's second single released off the album The Pimpton LP available on all platforms March 30. The song was produced by Sid Sacii and mixed and mastered at PMCK Studios. The video, an eye feast of digital magic just like the Matrix, was directed by Stuey Kubrick. “Flying through the Matrix in my Nebuchadnezzar,” Pimpton sings.

“The song Nebuchadnezzar is a song about endurance, getting the job done and the birthing of a new era,” Pimpton wrote to Noisey. “ Apart from being known historically as a Babylonian king, the name/title is a reference to the flying ship crewed by the protagonists of The Matrix movie trilogy. The video we created signifies movement between spaces of dimensions where our hero (Pimpton) is putting in work as well as overseeing the completion of small tasks that make up the greater whole. A mantra of such being: Drops of water fill a bucket.” Devin Pacholik enjoys Tasty Wheat. Follow him on Twitter.
