Chris Castello’s Anime-Inspired Song "Wait On You" Is An Ode To Scarborough

"It was an episode of the anime "Initial D" that inspired the song and the first lyrics and even the cover art."

Sometimes we find inspiration in unusual things and this is the sentiment behind Scarborough artist Chris Castello's newest single, "Wait On You." The record is a true showcase of the artist's versatility as, opposed to rapping, listeners get to hear him flex his vocal chords in addition to being half of the brains behind the production. Produced by Trebeled Ones (a production duo consisting of Castello and Nate Smith), the record seemingly takes on the form of your average love song but the artist cites an unlikely source as its inspiration.

"This song was inspired by multiple things. At the time when I was writing it, I wasn't even going through the situation in the song. It was an episode of the anime "Initial D" that inspired the song and the first lyrics and even the cover art", shares Castello over email, "I let the vibe of the song guide the rest of the lyrics and used a mixed of previous experiences to help paint the picture. The vibe itself was inspired by late night Scarborough jams mixed with sunsets at the bluffs." Listen to 'Wait On You'.
