Listen to The Cowboys Blow the Doors Off a Suburban Garage

'Live at Tony's Garage' captures the scrappy proto punk glory of the Bloomington, Indiana band.

During a West Coast tour earlier this year Bloomington, Indiana's The Cowboys performed in a garage in Whittier, Los Angeles. Tony Santos was there to record the performance and the session is now available as Live at Tony's Garage, an EP to be released on Feel It records.

The remastered record includes three of the band's originals and a killer version of The Sonics' 1964 garage rock classic "The Witch". Like the Sonics, the four-piece blend a proto punk style with some swaggering melody led by vocalist Keith Harman. It's all a bit like the Gizmos, Todd Rundgren, and The Dead Boys.

The EP follows Feel It’s proper US edition of their Volume 4 LP which originally appeared on cassette and later pressed by UK label Drunken Sailor.

Listen to "Mint Condition", a track that originally appeared on their 2014 tape Vol 2. The song loses none of its catchy hooks and swagger when played and recorded alongside old paint cans, tennis racquets, beer fridges and other garage detritus.

"Live at Tony's Garage" 7” will be available Feb 2018 on Feel It.
