Drug Sweat would sound at home on stage at CBGB in 1984 as they would the Hacienda in 1990.

But it’s 2016 and Drug Sweat only want to play the Tote.

The Melbourne five-piece started around the little band scene, a musical philosophy based on the idea of short-lived bands, but have since morphed into a punk/crunk/funk powerhouse that is used to close out popular music festivals and promote radio stations.

Melbourne community radio station PBS recently invited the band to play as part of their Drive Live series of gigs where bands perform in front of an audience. With a musical pedigree that includes the Ooga Boogas, Galaxy Folk, Ausmuteants and Cobwebbs, this is a band that only knows how to entertain.

Get clammy watching them perform their hit song “Drug Sweat”.

Look out for a Drug Sweat release later in 2016.
