Terrible Truths European Tour Diary

The Melbourne trio share photos and stories from their recent European tour with buddies Totally Mild.

Melbourne’s Terrible Truths recently returned from a European tour with their good buddies Totally Mild. Judging by their Instagram account it looks like a lot of fun was had by everyone involved. Read their brief diary and listen to "Uptight" from their brand new debut LP below.

We began our European tour with Totally Mild in Amsterdam with a couple of days off. Here’s to coffee shops, infinite hot chips, pancakes and polar bears. Our first shows were at Incubate Festival, in Tilburg in the Netherlands. Incubate is kind of like an Australian fringe festival but actually good. We played at a record store during the day, and then in a cool/sticky dive bar with Blank Realm from Brisbane and our own S. Wilson aka Rites Wild. It was a good night. Some dudes got super excited and took their brand new Bedroom Suck t-shirts off, then threw them around the dance floor for what seemed like hours.

Our next two shows were in Paris. The first night we played at the Café Des Sports in Menilmontant, and the next day in a comic book/record store called Pop Culture. Here’s Totally Mild in duo form making us cry.

Then after making it on to the Eurostar with seconds to spare we found ourselves in a very grey London. Our first show was at a bar in Clapham called the Stane St Syndicate. We played with this sick band Seeds of Doubt.

We then went way up north to Preston and got trapped in some sort of Jarmuscian dream. Here’s Totally Mild showing Preston how it’s done with this brand new track.

Then on to Manchester, which is a really awesome city. We played a cool show with local band Yiiikes! and Londoners Vertical Slump. The mood was only slightly dampened when some drunk dickhead ended up punching a woman in the throat who ended up glassing him in the face. Ahhh Manchester, all in a nights work.

Then back to London for two more shows, first at The Shacklewell Arms and then at Power Lunches in Dalston with total dream boat Boys Forever. Swoooon.

Then only a small thirty-five hour journey home on a very old plane with an extremely sharp elbowed neighbour. Yay! Let’s do it again!

Terrible Truths album is available now from Bedroom Suck Records.

Catch them at Melbourne Music Week Nov 19 at Max Watt's.
