Freak Out With American Sharks' Bloody, Bonkers New Animated Video

Hard rock dudes, psychedelic new video—smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

American Sharks is currently on the road with gorelords GWAR and crossover kings Corrosion of Conformity, and it looks like the former's cartoonish obsession with blood'n'guts has rubbed off on their younger tourmates. The band's new video for "Freak Out" is exactly that—a technicolor, animated wild ride that careens through rivers of blood, dinosaur-infested streets, and flying sharks. It's a psychedelic nightmare, and comes courtesy of director Allan Smoothie, who's concocted similarly batshit creations for a variety of other entities.

In keeping with the band's "yeah, we probably like drugs" theme, the repress of their self-titled debut album is available in a special "coloring book" format; markers in "strawberry cough," "blue dream," "grape ape," "green crack," "pineapple kush," "sweet island skunk," and "hashish" colors are included.
