Hear Another Uplifting Song from Charles Bradley's Posthumous 'Black Velvet'

"Can't Fight The Feeling" is a forgotten studio cut from Bradley's first months with Menahan Street Band.

A posthumous Charles album called Black Velvet is out on November 9 via Daptone imprint Dunham Records. We've already heard the record's first single, the slow-jammed "I Feel a Change," and now there's another new song. It's called "Can't Fight The Feeling," and it's a forgotten cut from Bradley's first sessions with Menahan Street Band.

Tommy "TNT" Brenneck, Bradley's longtime producer, discovered the track in his archives when prepping songs for Black Velvet, and it took him by surprise. "For some reason I always thought we hadn’t finished the vocal track but, to my surprise, not only was it finished, it was a powerful performance by Charles and the band is on fire to boot," Brenneck said in a press release. "Why it didn’t make [Bradley's 2011 debut] No Time For Dreaming? I have no idea."
