Helta Skelta's Punk Includes Artisan Hamburgers and German Supermarkets

The Perth punks invite you to go clubbing on their new 7".

We love ALDI. It seem Helta Skelta are fans of the German discount supermarket too judging by their new track "Nightclubbing". Over beefy bass and a slinking guitar riff, vocalist Jon Worpole sings about some of the charms of 2017 life including pints of Melbourne Bitter, artisan hamburgers named after local hard rock bands and the no frills grocery chain.

"ALDI's come to town and they've made everything all better", he sneers with tongue planted slightly in cheek.

The Perth band have been quiet of late with members living in Melbourne and Copenhagen but are releasing a new 7" Oct 23 through Deranged globally and Helta Skelta records in Australia.

While earlier Helta Skelta releases suggested a hardcore and garage punk crossover, the new track, slows things down a tad more to focus on lyrics, a booming bass and guitar riff that sounds a lot like Mikey Young's work in early Eddy Current Suppression Ring (which of course can only be a good thing). The band will be launching the record in Perth on Oct 14 at the Sewing Room as well as making an appearance at Maggot Fest 8 in Melbourne at the end of October.

'Nightclubbin' is available Oct 23 though Deranged and Helta Skelta.
