Hannah Lockwood and Gareth Psaltis Invite You to a DIY Techno Party

Meet Miffy the Cockatiel who is ‘Queen of the Kick On.’

This series is supported by Budweiser who are hosting their Bud Garage gig series across Sydney over the next couple of months.

For the latest episode of My Friend’s Band, we head along to DIY techno party Deep Seeded with Sydney producer Hannah Lockwood to catch her boyfriend Gareth Psaltis play a pumping new live set. Before the party, the couple give a tour of their Newtown home studio, show off their analog synths, and explain how they sometimes end up arguing over faders. There is also an introduction to Miffy the Cockatiel who apprentely is ‘Queen of the Kick On.’

For the last few years Hannah and Gareth have been pushing exciting experimentation through their collaborative project Phile. Re-constructing various forms of dance music, the duo’s live performances have become an important part of Sydney’s underground clubbing community and DIY party scene. There’s no green rooms and someone may accidentally knock the power out when dancing but parties like Deep Seeded are helping Sydney night life kick on.
