Everyone's favourite Perth-made side project turned big, successful-ass band are back. Pond have dropped a lead single "The Weather" from the impending album of the same name, and it seems to be a turn towards a more mellow and pop-driven Pond.Produced by Kevin Parker, the track sounds like it should soundtrack the scene in a coming-of-age film where the protagonist gets high for the first time and then kisses his crush in a backyard under the stars. It's really very nice. In fact, it reminds me of something Nick Allbrook said half way through his set at Volumes Festival in Sydney last year: "I'm so happy I feel like I could piss out the window and hit the moon."
