Patsy's Snarling Punk is Absolutely Fabulous

Listen to the New Orleans band's new mini album of frantic punk goodness.

A couple of years ago, New Orleans punks Patsy released Tuley Ride High, a hyper and snotty record that we struggled to keep off the stereo.

Now the band have dropped LA Women, a mini album on La Vida Es Un Mus Discos and things are just as frantic. The band is led by vocalist Candice Metrailer, who, along with a couple of other Patsy members, plays in the great Mystic Inane. But whereas Mystic Inane trade in a low rent scrunge punk, Patsy take cues from West Coast bands such as The Avengers, the early Dangerhouse catalogue and straight up Ramones grunt.

At first "Heathen" seems like the go to song but after a few more listens we keep returning to "Red Door". It's also good to hear "Nazis Are So Plain" that first appeared on their 2015 demo Alrite Ladies and Bitches It's Patsy. Listen to the tracks below.

'LA Women' is out now on La Vida Es Un Mus Discos.
