Hello 2017, the Year Rap Officially Got Cute

Or, how Chance the Rapper's congratulatory Grammy texts from Kendrick and Drake give us hope.

It's 2017 and rappers are cute now. That's just how it is. Last year, Gucci Mane got out of prison and now he's into cycling, and he proposed to his girl on the Kiss Cam at a basketball game. Lil Uzi bopped along to Paramore in his car. Adorable. Cute, apparently, is the new hard.  But the cutest of them all is Chance the Rapper, human puppy and all-round beautiful soul. Chance won three Grammys this past weekend – Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance for "No Problem," and Best Rap Album for "Coloring Book" – and in keeping with this new climate of cuteness, he received some loving congratulations from some friends, which he shared via Instagram:

Firstly, imagine knowing Kendrick Lamar well enough to have him saved in your phone as "Kendrick New Number." Secondly, even when he's congratulating someone, Drake cannot help but remind them that he's in the UK, because, like, he knows about the UK. He loves the UK. Drake is about that UK life. But despite all this, and even despite Chance's Grammy wins, the real victor here is friendship. More insights into rapper friendships in 2017, please.
