There's this pretty good meme I've seen around. I can't remember the image or the overall concept, but it hinges on this one line: "Some kinks just need to be shamed." Generally, I would put most kinks into that category (what can I say!? I'm a prude!). But I'm starting to think that I'm probably wrong on that front. Because recently, I've discovered Smokey's "Piss Slave", a ten-minute disco banger about drinking piss. And it's incredible.If you don't know anything about Smokey, here's the vibe: Smokey was a 70s gay leather duo based out of LA, comprised of a dude called Smokey (that's him in the photo above) and his partner, EJ Emmons. They could never get a proper record deal because their lyrics were waaaay too gay and this was the seventies, but they gained fans in high-profile figures like Joan Jett and Elton John anyway.Smokey recorded a lot, but they kinda got lost to the annals of time until 2015, when Chapter Music reissued a bunch of Smokey's recordings on the album How Far Will You Go? Among the gems on that record was "Piss Slave", a glorious epic featuring a refrain of "I wanna/ I wanna/ I wanna be your toilet" and a whole host of other lines about piss drinking. I'm still not fully around watersports but I am very, very around "Piss Slave". Today, we're premiering Tim Sweeney (from Beats in Space) and Phillip Lauer's absolutely pumping remix of "Piss Slave", which is part of the Piss Slave Remixes EP, out Friday on Chapter Music.
