Wet Lips' New Video Is About Friendship and Late Night Supermarket Loitering

The Melbourne three-piece check some of their fierce garage pop through the express line.

Though it could possibly be the most expensive supermarket in Australia, it make sense that Wet Lips filmed their new video outside Piedmonte's.

Like the small Melbourne supermarket who battles the big boy competition, Wet Lips are fiercely independent and since 2012 have been kicking against established music industry norms with their snarling garage punk.

The video for "Here If You Need", taken from their self-titled debut album that was released earlier this year, plays up to the three piece's staunch ideas of independence of solidarity.

"The clip represents strength, confidence, fun, friendship and being carefree. In a way it's a play on the Riot Grrrl idea of reclaiming our girlhood, of returning to a time before we were socialised as women to be self-conscious and quiet," the band explained to NOISEY via email.

Watch the trio get up to some late night trouble/fun below.
