2016 is Truly Evil: Drake Cancels Dates on the Summer Sixteen Tour Because of Sprained Ankle

"Even heroes have the right to bleed..."

Drake has postponed upcoming shows on his Summer Sixteen tour after a doctor has instructed him to rest his injured ankle. Four back-to-back shows were said to be getting in the way of Drake's recovery, as he's been performing on the injury for some time now.

Three of the four shows, including Philadelphia and Toronto, are cancelled and will be made up later, while one of two Newark shows will go ahead, as the city remains one of the few stops on the tour that Drake has never played. The Summer Sixteen tour has seen the rapper play upwards of fifty shows around North America and Canada since kicking off back in July, and will to conclude after Newark.

Drake wrote an apologetic open letter to his fans, saying "I am crushed to even be typing this announcement, because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise—I will make it up to you. Thank you for understanding and I can't wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle."
