For eight years, the 88 Days of Fortune collective has been helped promote and nurture the careers of some of Toronto's best and brightest in the worlds of rap, R&B, and more under the leadership of Ayo Leilani a.k.a. Witch Prophet. Shad, Polaris winner Lido Pimienta, and others have played a part in their compilations and shows. The collective has a brand new one of these compilations called Cosmic Melanin out today to celebrate their eight anniversary and it's an apt portrait of their broad range.It's 20 tracks long and acts as a precursor to a series of eponymous events around the city, including one during Nuit Blanche on September 30.
