Listen To Bodhi Remix Of MNEK Collaborator Karen Harding

Weekend engage.

Newcastle Upon-Tyne has long been a hotbed of musical talent, as anyone who's drunkenly found themselves singing along to Jimmy Nail's early 90s classic "Crocodile Shoes" in an East London Wetherspoon's at 1am on a Saturday morning can attest to (ahem). But a quality crossover of dance music and pop isn't always the first thing to spring to mind when assessing the land of Brown Ale, stotties and horse punching. Sure, Robson Green, Maximo Park and Dave Stewart are all ground breaking and arguably legendary figures in the modern pop canon, yet it's only the latter that really lent his skills to anything that could be aligned with the late night electronic-infused rhythms of the sort we all cherish.

Having said that, we're pleased to be premiering new material from a ridiculous new talent hailing from the North East, and one who pushes all our buttons in terms of stuff that bangs. On a mission to "bring back vocals to house music", 22 year old Karen Harding has certainly got the chops to do just that, as forthcoming debut single "Say Something" displays, coming across with swinging UKG flavours, soulful vocals and pumped-up R&B posturing, and produced by current chart slayer MNEK.

Marrying North with West, we've got an exclusive premiere from Cardiff's house music duo Bodhi to stream below, which sees the Ten Thousand Yen-signed talent strip things down to a hustling drum track, atmospheric dabblings and Karen's all out voice that's set to blow out some windows near you any time soon. Eat your heart out Jimmy Nail.

Method Records will be releasing 'Say Something' on November 9th snd you can pre-order here. Until then you can check out Karen Harding on Soundcloud and Twitter.
