Graham Coxon Crowdsources The World's Street Dancers

His new video is a mash-up of his fans in 22 different countries.

You don’t need a huge budget to make a really great music video these days. It’s just a matter of getting together a ton of interesting footage and editing it together into something spectacular. That’s what director Ninian Doff did in his video for Graham Coxon’s “What’ll It Take,” and the source of the interesting footage was the crowd.

Coxon asked his fans all over the world to send him videos of themselves walking and dancing in the street. Doff then picked 85 videos from 22 countries and edited them into this international ballet. He edited them together in a way that his meticulousness is clear, but the video still has a fun DIY feel to it, as though it’s a photo collage come to life.

The composite dancer is a ball of human energy without a face, dancing through the street happily with an Argentinian leg, a German foot, an American hand, etc. If you think you’ve caught a familiar flash when watching the video and suspect your cousin or next door neighbor may have contributed, you can check out who’s in the the video at Graham Coxon’s site.
