Last month, London producer Miss Modular took on a new alias, MM, to release an eponymous EP on Her Records, which the artist himself co-founded. On the EP under his new guise, we experience a diverse stylistic range that jumps from bubbling UK Funky all the way to drumline sounds. Now, barely a month out from his last release, the producer is back with a split EP with NAAFI producer IMAABS, once again flexing his multi-faceted approach.Ahead of that, we're sharing "Charly Tek," a Charly Black-sampling technoid stomper that tries to bring a heavier energy than usual to its somewhat-slow BPM, as the artist explained to THUMP via email. "'Charly Tek' is a mid-tempo dancehall-techno hybrid tool I've been using to bridge the looser, slower elements of my sets with the trackier, more intense stuff," he explained. "The idea was to make a peak-time club track at a 112bpm, a tempo that too often functions as transition or 'warm up' territory." Stream the track below, and be sure to get the entire Body Horror II EP when it drops November 13 on Purple Tape Pedigree.
