In our new VICELAND series Black Market, actor Michael K. Williams meets society's outcasts—from New Jersey's carjackers to animal poachers in South Africa, from stick-up boys in Brooklyn to London's heroin-addicted shoplifters. The show offers an unprecedented look into the lives of people driven by desperation to work in underworld economies.

On the first episode, Williams heads back to his old stomping grounds in Newark, New Jersey, where young unemployed men steal cars to joyride or sell overseas through the city's international shipping yard. Williams talks with members of these organized crime gangs to find out how they reached the point where they felt they needed to use violence to make ends meet.
