Angie’s New Video Moves With the Gentle Beauty of a Sinking Ship

Watch the haunting video from the Sydney songwriter's latest album 'Shyness'.

Shyness, the new album from Angie (aka Angela Garrick of Straight Arrows, Circle Pit, Southern Comfort, Ruined Fortune) could be the Sydney songwriter's most ambitious release.

Stripped back and quieter compositions are centred around a grand piano and acoustic and electric guitar. At times the gentle improvisations give the seven songs an almost folk feel and it is a considered departure from her 2015 album.

The video, for "Nothing in Store" directed by Melanie Garrick and Mitchell Grant, is apt to the mood Angie wants to set - a shy 'sadness' with the blue and purple hues that filter through.

""Nothing in Store" reflects upon a sinking ship. You know you have to get off, but still you can't for reasons that you can't even remember. It is about the moment of realisation, but the moment prior to trying to save yourself.

Watch below and take in its reserved beauty.

'Shyness' is available now through Rice is Nice and Dero Arcade.
